Hello Everyone,
I have use this site from time to time but not made the theater plunge yet as I have been recently relocated and want to be settled before I start buying and creating my home theater setup, but necessity has forced my hand with my PC.
Up until last weekend I had a decent Dell 5.1 surround sound speaker setup but for some reason now my speakers volume rises and falls at various times throughout the music or audio in general. I have switched out to a different set of regular speakers and the volume sounds fine. I swore that the next time I buy speakers for my computer
I would get some that use real speaker cable instead of the tiny strings that are attached inside the speaker housing.
I currently have an Abit mother board with an intagrated C Media High Definition sound card. It has 6 programable jacks on the back as well as fiber connections.
My question is should I use the fiber to connect to a real reciever and then buy surround sound speakers? or should I buy a boxed set of speakers? or what are your thoughts on a good quality audio system for PC? I use it to listen to music and watch movies, some playing of games.
If someone else has posted this somewhere, please excuse me being a newb and please point me in the right direction.
Thanks!!!
