composite to component and syncing issue

I am having a audio to video synching issue which I believe is caused by my setup but need some help determining a better way. My final output needs to be component as that is the Rapid Run system throughout the house

Standard def cable box outputs [S-video and R-W audio] to

Tivo- outputs using the same S-Video and R-W audio to

DVD Recorder which then has a component output to

Gefen 4x4 matrix switch boxes then to the TV's

I don't need the DVD but used it as a solution for the necessary component outputs.
Besides the syncing issue, color sucks. so I figured I am running thru at least one too many components or my thought process is all wrong.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Question for you - have you tried using your Yamaha RX-V861 to do the S-video to composite conversion instead of using the DVD recorder?

AAAhhh No I didn't, sometimes its right in front of you isn't it. I'll give it a shot.
