This is talked about to death here, but perhaps a bit of clarity...
Video cables are (typically) 75ohm cables and can be named any number of things, they can carry video, audio, subwoofer, and digital audio signals... Likewise, the cables that run to your cable box/satellite box are 75ohm cables.
What it means, is that all of these cables are basically the same.
Yet, the BUILD quality of different cables can be significantly different from one another. Some connectors are way off of 75ohms and others are so cheap that they are open to interference quite easily.
On a budget, I would recommend the 'PREMIUM' cables from
www.monoprice.com in as second.

You can see that they label this cable for almost all applications.
For analog stereo audio (left and right), they have a dual cable version of the same thing...

Note the price difference! (not much)
The difference between the two cables? There's ONE of the first one and TWO of the second one. Otherwise, they are identical.
Component video? (with audio)...

If you have a few more bucks, the cables at
www.bluejeanscable.com are excellent as well.
The really cheap cables are the ones I would avoid. The ones which often ship with equipment are of such poor build quality that I would definitely worry about a bit of quality loss.
