Composite cables for component inputs?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any difference in using composite cables for component inputs? Is there any quality difference?

I'm asking because my friend is using his composite cables and plugging it in his component inputs and is working perfectly fine. He says it is the same wires.

I did a search and came up with some mixed answers. Some say there is no different and some say there is some noise and color problems.

The fact that your buddy is successfully running them should tell you something, no?

Assuming decent quality cables, I cannot fathom noise being a problem. As for a color problem, the only one I can think of is that the color of the RCA plugs on the ends won't match the corrosponding jacks on the equipment.

The internet will give you all the answers, some true and some not so true. Now that you've done a search, it's up to you to select which "some" you want to believe.

Seriously, I have no life.
RG-59 is used for serial digital, audio, video (composite and component), subwoofers and pretty much anything that needs shielded cable, other than cable or satellite feeds from the source. If it's good quality, it'll work fine. For Component, all three need to be as close to the same length as possible but don't go all CDO on us. (Anyone with OCD should appreciate the alphabetical order)
