Can anyone provide me some information as to which amps have pretty decent component video switching? I've heard that most do not work and induce noise on the video signal. I've been looking at Onkyo, Yamaha, HK, and Denon amps (in the price range of $1000-$1500). Additionally, I want a 7.1 amp (if this helps).

Thanks!

I have the impression the more expensive the receiver is the better or more decent its video switching circuitry is. I know many hi-end AV preamps actually have defeatble video switches to preclude extraneous nooise entering the audio circuits. Many mid-priced receivers do a god job of isolating the video from the audio sections. I know my old Onkyo does. Try a Rotel, Nad, Harman kardon and Pioneer Elite. (Perhaps you may want to look into separate A/V 5.1 preamps like Rotel or Krell which could be within your budget. But you will have to get a separate multi-channel power amp for another $$$.)
