Component Video Cables for Audio

So do component video cables make for a better audio cable?

other than the 75ohm impedance with the c.v., it should
work just as well as the 50ohm standard audio interconnect?

reason I ask is I'm sure we all have quite a few of these cables
lying around since HDMI came out. maybe good way to recyle as audio
interconnects.

You'll be fine using video cables for audio. They have a wider bandwidth and aren't as fussy abut impedance as video/digital cables.

And, as an added bonus, most modern audio cables are 75 ohms anyway.

Hello photoeye.

I use component video cables for multi-channel audio on my Denon DVD2910 and it works fine. I was told by a technician at a high-end audio/video store that it would work perfectly. He was right.

Regards.
