Component out upconversion question/problem

I have a Boston Acoustics AVR7100 and unless I misread the manual, it states that is upconverts/outputs all video signals and outputs them from the component out. So I am to assume that anything that I have plugged into the receiver, will output video through the component out to my projector? Am I missing something? The only signal I am able to output from the component out's are from the DVD player which is connected via component in and output from component as well, so no conversion. Please advise...
Are there any "special" settings that I might need to have swithced on? I have gone through the on screen many times, but don't see anything that I can change to correct this. Possibly I just have a faulty unit.

You need to make sure that the component input you plugged your DVD player into corresponds to the correct input in the set-up menu.

Here is an example:

I plugged my DVD player into component 1, in the set-up menu the receiver thinks I am using component 3 for DVD. So until I change the settings in the receiver to component 1, I will not get a video signal from the DVD player using the DVD input.

Hope this helps!

All of my settings appear to be correct and all video sources output correctly onto my television, but nothing but my DVD player(which is plugged via component in) outputs from the component out to my projector. From what I understand, everything should output through the component out, but that is clearly not happening here. I will see what Boston Acoustics has to say. Hopefully I will hear back from them in due time.

I know for my receiver, the default for video upconversion is ON. It's possible that the default for you receiver is OFF. That's a rather simple possibility, but try to find that in your menu.

Make sure you have component video inputs set correctly in the setup menu via recv'r. Example...source A into component 1. Then assign it as Video 1. When you select Video 1 source(via recvr's source selector or via remote) you will be monitoring/listening to the source hooked into component one input. If you try everything and still have problems...contact BA and they will fix it or replace unit for free if found faulty. I know this due to the fact a member here has sent his 7120 in due to bad processor chip/s. He got a new unit from BA. My 7120 has not given me any such problems. And yes, mine does output via component even though source is input to s-vid(my xbox). Good luck.
