Component hookup?

Was wondering about a video hookup. I have a Denon 2805 and was just wondering if I should send my DVD player and cablebox through the Denon or just send the video straight to the tv and the sound through the Denon.

Tv is Sony 34xbr910 and dvd is Pioneer DV-563A

I would use the receiver for switching purposes. It really makes life easy.
