How many of you wonder if you’re home cinema sounds good or is even up to the task or good reproduction, just like you would expect to find in a good sound cinema with THX certification?

Well I’ve just watched “The Truman Show” in six-track Dolby Stereo Digital and what a complex film mix it’s got, on par with films like “Alien” and “Heat” very complex and richly detailed with good dialogue intelligibility and some good stereo front mixing on the left and rights.

Most of the music is covered on the left and right, with occasional parts of the music mixed into the centre, but its rhythm is completely different from the left and right as well as split-surrounds

Softer sounds like in chapter 16, when Christof, is retiring for the evening walks up to large screen all the footsteps and the breathing from Truman while sleeping, and distance ambient sounds can be heard coming from the centre channel, but only on a good home cinema set-up!

So how many of you can notice good front imaging of on screen sounds?

I think the only way to know is to somehow compare it to a reference system, take specific notes and chapter times, what and where to listen as memory is unreliable. Then, one can judge:D I don't have this video nor have seen it so I cannot judge how my boombox sounds:D

Maybe you have others to comment on. I might have it?
