I am wanting to upgrade all my speakers (except sub) from my current Energy C-series setup.I'm going to sell my old stuff,so I will have additional finds to play with. I have been told to look at the Take classic 5,etc. Also,I need them to all be bookshelf type,no room for towers anymore. Price range of $0-$1000.

I'm running a Denon AVR-1909 receiver.

??

Many Towers don't take up any more floor space than a stand-mount.
Entertainment center is large and the new house doesn't have room for it and the towers. I will have to put the bookshelves on the ends of the unit. Unless I get a smaller unit.

So you will be placing the stand-mounts on bookshelves? That's pretty notable as many bookshelves are designed to be freestanding. Their tonal balance would shift when placed on a bookshelf.

I would be putting the speakers at the end of the entertainment center, but they would actually be on the entertainment center,if that makes sense. would that be a NO NO?

IMO it would be a no no as it's a huge source of early diffraction, but if you have to live with it then there's not much you can do.

I would suggest a studio monitor with adjustable bass level settings at the very least, for example JBL LSR2328P up front and some cheap Infinity P153 surrounds

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will try to find a smaller unit so I can still use floor speakers.
