Comparable Substitute to the NXG NX-BAS-500 Subwoofer?

From what I've heard, the NXG is the nicest subwoofer in its price range, especially as a hybrid type subwoofer for both movies/music. As many people have found out, the NXG had a huge demand that drove it out of stock. We are all waiting overseas manufacturing/shipping/whatever else.

My question is, what would be a comparable subwoofer in or around that price range? I have heard good reviews of the STF-2 Subwoofer from HSU but there are also a few reviews saying that the STF-2 doesn't match up to the NXG's ability in the music category, a category that I see as very important in my future subwoofer.

Opinions? Suggestions? Any help would be awesome.

The STF2 is a nice budget subwoofer and HSU has been making subs for a long time with great success even OEM for some. More importantly how large is your room? You might want to ask a mod to move this thread to the subwoofer section also.
