Compact stereo for in-wall speakers?

Step 1: Installed a pair of in-wall Infinity ERS-210 speakers (imp: 8 ohm, rec. amp power range: 10 - 125 watts), temporarily hooked them up to my 100W receiver (Kenwood KR-A5070, 18" x 17" x 7") and life was good.
Step 2: Installed wires and speaker jack into "perfect" location for nice natural cherry stereo cabinet. Cool.
Step 3: Start planning to build the cabinet only to realize that, given the space needed for the Kenwood (depth), it will be too large for this "perfect" location :( .

Question: Barring relocating the jack, will one of the compact (or mini) stereo systems (e.g. Denon D-M31, Onkyo MC-35) drive these speakers? These systems usually have less than 50 watts and I noticed that the included speakers are usually 6 ohm. Not looking for audiophile quality here, but I don't want to damage either the speakers or the receiver.

Thanks,
Steve

I'm not a huge fan of class D receivers, but the guys over at AVS love the Panasonic XR55. It's small, light, and pretty potent.

Check out this thread. It's unreal.

Here's a model up from that (top of the line Panny).

(But buy it here - street price is around $300)
