I am moving from an existing rear-projection TV to an on-wall Panny plasma. I have posted several times to this forum about what I might give up -- with regard to audio sound quality -- if I went with high-quality on-wall speakers, moving away from my existing stand-mount units. From the feedback I have received, and from my listening tests, I have decided that I can get good detail from on-walls...but I will give up too much soundstaging. This is not acceptable.
So, what I am proposing to do is this: I'm going with three identical Paradigm Studio 20's on stands, across the front. They sound wonderful in audition, they are smaller than my current speakers, and the lack of rear porting lets me place them on stands close to the wall. Audio is a higher priority to me than A/V, and having the center channel speaker be an identical, vertically-arrayed unit is preferred.
The plasma would then be mounted 4" above the top plane of the speaker array.
Any comments about this proposal?
Thanks!
