Combining Speaker Wire runs

I have my amp and receiver in the back of my room. I want to run the wires up into the ceiling and then down into the wall to reach the front 3 channels. Can I combine them into 1 run or do I need to do each line separately?

You can combine them into one run. You can run three two-conductor wires (perhaps inside of a conduit), or you can also get wires that have more than two-conductors per wire. Be sure to get wire that is rated for in-wall runs.

Partsexpress.com has come nice wall plates with binding posts. I can supply a link if you want.

Thanks. I bought the CL2 rated speaker wire from monoprice and picked up some connectors and wall plates. I'm just worried that running the wires down the length of my room all in one bunch will cause some kind of hum.

Gotcha. I sure wouldn't expect it to cause any hum. I've run speaker wires next to each other (not in-wall, but still side by side) for years without any hum. I've done it in different homes and with different wires.

Now, if you were running power lines along side the speaker wires, that would be a different story.

Nope. Shouldn't be any power lines that need to cross the path. I may have two subwoofer connects that I have to take along a similar path but I am hoping to run them seperate. The left sub will be easy to seperate but the sub on the right of my room will require me to run the line either across or with the front speaker wires in order to get it where I need it.
