I am looking for reommendations to combine a newly acquired SVS SD1000 and a Klipsch 150 (ported 10" sub from 1997). My setup is the following:

1. Pioneer Elite SVX07TX Receiver
2. Boston VR950 for main speakers
3. BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S center channel speaker
4. Klipsch Quintet for surrounds
5. the room dimensions are 28 wide x 16 deep
6. ceilings are approximately 7' 4". This ia a basement setup.
7. Area carpeting on most of floor surface.

I have the SVS in the front inside of the right main speaker placement due to right corner of room occupied by a corner desk. I would like to add the ported Klipsch 150 sub into this.
Would a front arrangement be better than a back right corner placement or behind the sofa near back wall? I have about 5 feet from the back wall where I read somewhere can be a good placemnet for one of dual subs. I read this in some literature on a website. Can't remember exactly who it was.

Thoughts?

Placement isn't the issue, the issue is having two vastly different subs means getting the two to play together nicely likely won't be simple. Generally when you go with dual subs, you go with two identical ones because they react the same way in the room. In this case you have one sealed and one ported and those two won't blend IMO. My advice is to use the Klipsch in another setup or sell it.
