Yes, yes.. I still have an ancient TV.. hehe. It's an old Sanyo something-or-other. So old it doesn't even have S-video inputs, so everything is through composite.
Normally, everything is perfectly fine, but today I noticed some color bleeding while I was playing my PS2, the new Outrun game. The bright red of the car was "streaking" a little bit here and there.
I know red has a greater tendency to bleed than other colors, this was just the first time I'd noticed it.
Is it simply a side-effect of the old technology? A very vibrant red image displayed through composite onto a TV that's at least a dozen years old? Or is it a sign that my TV may be starting to wear?
In case you're wondering why I haven't upgraded yet, there are two reasons. For one, I'm not a rich man.. so digging up a couple grand for a new TV is difficult. And, I hate waste... I don't like to replace something until it dies, and my TV is about the only thing left from my "old" setup that's still chugging along (already got the pro-scan DVD player and big-*** 5.1 sound system). So as long as it continues to chug along, I'm going to keep using it.. hehe.
