Hi All,
I need to buy a digital audio cable to hook up my Pioneer DV-588 DVD player to a new Pioneer VSX 1015 I just bought. The DVD player is mainly used for movies. I was wondering which is the best performing digital audio cable to use, coax or optical? Is there much difference? Thanks!

no difference

Go for whichever is cheaper or you have open I/O for. Given a choice, I'll go coaxial.

digital, 1's or 0's.. doesn't matter.. it either works or it doesn't.

Quadzilla, I use Optical for my DVD player, you can get both types for the same price. I think the 1015 only has 2 optical and 1 digital coax input, so first see what else you will be hooking up.Some things only have one or the other.

A good thing to do is get both types of cables and try them out, then return the one you do not want.
