Coax interference with home wiring

I'm about to install a distribution center for my telephone and cable wiring and was wondering about interference between the coaxial cable for the TV/Internet data and the feeder lines running into my CB panels.

Currently all cable outlets in my home run to a single exit point in my basement right next to the CB panels bringing electricity into the house (350 Amp service with a 200 AMP box and a 150 AMP box). Two of the coax wires cross the feeder lines (at approximately 90 degrees) running into the breaker panels. I plan on re-routing these wires once I install the distribution panel.

My specific questions are:

1) Is there a rough distance to keep the coaxial cable away from the CB panel and/or power cables to minimize interfence? I plan on moving the coxial cable to run parallel with the CB panel down to the new distribution panel below.

2) Any suggestions on how to ensure the best possible signal for HD and Internet data to my TV and modem? I was looking at a Leviton splitter (about a 1 GHz freq range) to distribute the signals (max 6-way). I'm not sure yet about the signal strength and S/N ratios coming through the wall jacks yet...I'll grill the cable tech when he comes out.

You should keep power cables and signal cables at least 12" away when run parallel.

Thanks for the info. Anything I could wrap the cable in to help shield it? (i.e. try to reduce the 12" separation).

Wraping would not be enough. You'd have to ground the wrapping and it has to be very good. The 60 Hz is difficult to screen out. Best to use distance. Problem with that?

Slightly...The CB Boxes are near a corner, leaving me with about 4 inches between the side of the box and the exit hole through the foundation wall. Short of drilling a new hole through the foundation, I'm at a creative impasse as far as trying to route the wires. I can send pictures if anyone likes...

You might get away with that 4" distance if the distance that is 4" proximity is not very long. Maybe you can keep it separated until this hole and after it?
Or, am I missing something here?

Actually it's not long at all. If you're looking at the CB panel, the entry hole for the cable TV is about four inches from the bottom left corner of the box. I plan on putting the distribution center below the two CB panels and have plenty of room to play with.

It might work. But it seems you may not have much choice? Try it.
