Hi I have an Yamaha RX-667 receiver and I have some problems with the coax audio output.
Both my optical outputs are taken and I wanted to connect my samsung tv to my RX.
Only the problem is that I only have a coax-output left om my RX and my tv has an optical connection.
So I bought a converter to convert optical signal to coax-digital .
I connected all but still no sound !!!!!!! it works just fine if I connect it directly from optical to optical.
Can anyone help me out with this ?????

Thanx for now :) greets Morpheus

Welcome to the forum!

Make sure that when seeing if it will work, you are selecting the input on the receiver that is assigned to the coax jack that you are using on the back panel. You can change those assignments (for example, assign the coax jack to the TV input) yourself - see page 91 of your owner's manual to assign one of the jacks to the TV input.

Also, which optical-to-coax converter do you have? I ask because those are unidirectional, so if you accidentally bought one that converts coax to optical, then it won't work. This is an example of one that should work for what you want to do.
