So my room was totally clutter, and my desk really sucked, and well, my speakers still suck.

But I did get a new desk!

I'm working on getting a pair of onix x-ls and putting them where my floors are, and getting a sub to put underneath my desk.

And my addidas rod lavers! Believe it or not, but one pair is a year old, the other is only a week old, and they both look exactly the same, then again, your shoues would look like that if you hacked as much as me!

DUDE! Are you a shoe nut like me? I used to hack, esp. in high school.

I must say, your system looks very nice now. Is that a raidmax scorpio? I have a silver one (If it is). Again, if it is, I like mod to the window. I would do it to mine, but I'm buying my buddies Antec 1080 performance, which already has a monster window in it.

Heh, I think I have the same phone as you.

BTW, flashes are your friend. :D

Yah, I turned off flash for a reason, it makes the magnesium burns in my carpet show more ( I like to steal stuff from ym chem. lab  )

And yah, I will always hack, it keeps me in shape, as well as my daily run ( I got a little fat, 200lbs. kinda sucks.)

And yes, It's a raidmax Scorpio, really nice case isnt it? It house's my what used to be server, but the recent filling of my WD Raptor, which is only 74 gigs (thats what I get for buying a 10k rpm hdd) I was forced to take the 200gig from the server and use it to store music.

Honestly, I might just pick up some old cerwin vega, or something in the likes of what you have in a recent pick on your thread, you know, the pencil head one. The sound from my 3-way's please's me enough, and 200$ is quite a bit of money, considering my mom just bought a car, and I cant work for ahwile on account of school.

Actually, I really dislike that case. The lights stopped working within a month. No to mention the strictive grill on all the fans, and the cheap PSU.

Anywho,

Those HPM-100s are my dads. They sound pretty good, little to bright for intense listening, but helps for working out. :D

I also go for runs too. Its the only way to shed excess weight, without doing ungodly weight workouts. Ha, I have you beat, 215lbs.

It's all muscle right?

Anyways, I cant wait to ditch these three ways though, I mean, sound has nothing to do with looks, but these look like crap, the cones are half mising, a speaker in each is missing, and the tweeter cones are dented in.

.....Waffle, your new desk looks great....your system is well laid out and looks plenty adequate....we can't snap our fingers and our dream system suddenly appear....it has taken ALL of us time and bucks to achieve our theater's potential as per equipment....the important thing is that we have a sound system and computer and TV to entertain ourselves when we want to stay in and not be running around just burning gas to have something to do....late night jaunts to Wal-Mart and motorcycle rides are then a welcomed option....your room and everything in it looks nice, Waffle, and I admire the demeanor of your posting....keep up the good work, Sir.....

nice. we have a similar computer setup, from table to equipment ... but arent the left and right speakers too far to the left and right?

What kind of receiver is that? Looks like a pioneer 1016 to me.

He has the 815.

Waffle, Your setup looks super clean and neat, the speakers really are the weak point in your setup, plus they are too far apart for any imaging since you sit so close to them. I also would be careful when picking a sub, sitting it right under your desk and being not more than 3 feet away from it may make it hard to blend or give it poor SQ. didn't you say you have a sub already?

-Mike

BTW, nice lamp....

Well, I never keep anything for a certain amount of time, like my sub.

I sold it too a freind, he took it for 100$, I made it from Dayton audio's 10" refernces, the 250w amp (170w @ 8ohms) Fiberboard, and a nice beach veneer laminate, but yah, its gone.

And I was actually planning on putting a pair of Onix X-ls where the 3 ways are, but since that is too far, whee would I put them?

And a sub reccomendation would be nice, also where to place it.

Here's a good idea, I could get a top down view of my room!

You could put them beside your monitor....

Instead of stands, place them 1-2' away from the sides of your monitor angle slightly toward your ears, the sound will 110% better there then where the big floors are and will create a accurate soundstage in relativity to how close you are to the speakers. If you want them to look cool and sound better (marginaly) still, buy some of those shiny metal pointy feet to isolate them from the desk.
