Hi,
First of all I am a newbie in this area. I have had a Yamaha HTR 5840 receiver and Klipsch quintet II speaker system. I have used monster cable to connect the speakers. I have calibrated using the AVIA guide and everything seems to be normal, but for this.

The problem is that the special effects are very natural and crisp in any DVD that I watch, but the voice of the actors and actress are not loud enough. Is this a problem with the way I have setup some parameters?. I am not clear on this issue. I would appreciate if you could help me with this issue.

Thanks,
Vishwa

Thanks for the response.
I certainly could turn up the center volume, but then, it will no longer be balanced in all channels. Am I right is saying so. I used a decibel meter mounted on a tripod and then balanced all channels to read the same decibel levels. Now, if I turn up the volume of the center channel alone, wont it affect that..

Cheers,

Sure it would affect it which is what you want to do if you cant hear it. Balance is one thing but what sounds best to you is the only thing that matters. Many people run their subs +5 hot (turned up) and I run my center +1 hot. Is that perfectly balanced per SPL...nope...Is that ok....yep...

One more thing to try is turning the center EQ off if so equipped. When I run the auto-cal on my Yammy it sets the EQ but my center is more clear with it turned off.
