CL2 Rated Cables and Condensation

Hi All,

I've been running my own audio/video cable (12x2 speaker wire, component video cable, and RCA sub-woofer cable (all CL2 rated) and RG6/RG11 coax video cable) in the walls and ceiling of my new house and a friend brought up a question on one of my runs. This run, RG6 coax for now, actually goes just outside the bounds of the house and into the eaves a bit and I was thinking of running a set of speaker wire along the same path as well. Anyway, do I run the risk of condensation inside the wire sheathing over time playing havoc with my signal quality? Thanks!

Of course you do. You would need exxterior rated cables for each.

Appreciate the quick response. I'll just go ahead and reroute that one run so that it's inside. Thanks again!

Hi Blacksquid,
When you say outside the eaves, do you mean in the attic, but in / over the soffit area?
