Hi Guys just FYI! If you bought your HDDVD player 90 days ago you can return it and cc will give allow you to trade it in full price for a BD player! SWEEEEEET!!!!:D:D:D:D Here's the link!

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Industry_Trends/High-Def_Retailing/Circuit_City/Shhh!_Circuit_City_Trading_HD_DVD_Players__for_Blu-ray/1545
Just to be clear, the trade applies the purchase price paid for the HD player to the retail price of a BD player (not an even swap). Thanks, John

Oh, and I'll be keeping mine...they play so play so nice!

John, it looks like the rats are jumping ship! You'll be the only one left with a Toshiba!:D This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode titled "Time Enough At Last," here check this out :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Enough_at_Last

"Rats" is right. Someone that buys an HD player from one store, and attempts to return it an another is a, well...use your imagination.

I'll let the "rats" jump ship, waste time and gas, and then make a fool out of themselves in their attempt to return an item to a store from where it was not purchased. Let me help you guys: IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN! Sheesh.

I'll be the only one left with a Toshiba strat? That's fine with me! :D All the more $1 and $2 titles for me to usurp and enjoy in 1080p/24Hz glory on a magnificent 120" glass bead screen! :) Apparently, the "rats" haven't actually experienced this phenomena (1080p/24Hz) on a large screen, with DD+ and True. Were they to experience it, they'd realize only a fool would return the player. Btw, the deal does not extend to software guys...so you've already let the cat out of the bag that you are trolls...what good are your HD discs w/o a player? :D

No matter to me strat...I have nothing but love to spread for HD...and I have no hate for BD. Hell, I may even buy one soon...my door won't stay open! :p And when they [finally] get their firmware corrected, and correct the flicker issues, and finally get 2.0 profile out (or are we up to 3.3 now? :D), and get the msrp of their discs below $25, and offer a player for under $200 (a good one), and...etc., etc., etc. :D

Btw strat: How do you best enjoy your HD software? :D;)

Strat, you keep it fun! Good morning, John :)

Good morning John,

I must confess, the only HD content in the cave is Direct TV. I have waited out the format "war" and I'll wait till the end of the year to see if the bugs are worked out with the new crop of players debuting (Sony, Panny, Oppo), to be frank, software pricing won't be that much of an issue with me since I'll end up buy no more than 150 titles in hi-def format.

You wait much longer, BD will be extinct. ;)

I hear what you're saying about software tile pricing, but to many 150 titles is a lot, especially if the difference is $10 per title. That wouldm buy a really sweet amp (or two), or a nice pair of mains.

Well I've been saying it all along, time is not on BD's side, they must become aggresive in advertising, software pricing, hardware reliability and finally consumer education. If not, the economy will prove merciless.........though for a spot of good news.....CE sales have been floating a sagging retail economy, February numbers from the big retailers look much better and in part thanks to CE.:)

Yes, CC will require the remote, cords, manuals, AND original box....along with a CC receipt for the trade, so fat chance.

I'm keeping my A2, and in fact, expecting the XA2 I just bought to be delivered on FedEx today.:D;) Keep bringing the software firesales!

You mean I can't bing in a broken A2 that I bought from another store back in October, w/o a remote, cord, manual, box, receipt, etc. and receive full msrp credit? What is this world coming to? :p

Hear, hear Dukester!!! The software pricing alone is now enough to get into HD. :p

So I did it!!!:D:D:D:D:D CC allowed me to trade in my hd-a20 and gave me full value for it! I got the bd-up5000. Yes-they allowed me to upgrade to a combo player. They say as long as the hddvd is not over 2 yrs old and in great cosmetic condition they'll take it granted you bringback the maual, cables if any and remote!!!

THEY WILL EVEN EXCHANGE THE HD DVD MOVIES YOU BOUGHT FROM THEM:D:D:D:D

Well I returned my A2 (which I got at Wal-Mart) to Circuit City for a $214.99 credit. Good call on them not letting me return it. :D

Really? Good for you...and bad for them (and ultimately the rest of us). I guess I can see whi you wanted to return it if you paid $215...people are regularly buying this player for $60-$100. Geez, for the matter, I can buy an XA2 for about $200...and as the msrp was $1100, really cash in.

Got receipts to confirm this? Cuz I bought a juicer at Target and a unicycle at Walmart that I'd like to get credit for at CC. :p

Really? Got proof of any of this? This is all smoke any mirrors, because the written offer by CC is directly in contradiction to what you state. Why don't you go blow smoke up ... somewhere else? Trolls!

Both of these issues are in direct contradiction to CC's written policy via their new blog on HD movies and HD players (refer to par. 7):

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/genericContent.do?oid=197457&plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog:43329ae7-dd15-478e-a6e0-1c47604211faPost:0340a436-10ab-4710-95fa-7ff9e6ca163f

It would be a very slippery slope for any retailer to accept the unbridled return of HD movies...particularly if opened. It just flies in the face of normal retail practice. CC plainly states they will not accept the return of HD movies (although, I'm sure if it (they) were just recently purchased, and unopened, with a receipt they would give credit or a refund). Furthermore, the player must have been purchased "within the previous 90 days from CC"...not any other vendor in the past two years. Sheeesh. Some will drink from the mirage in the desert... Pursuing the truth in audio and video...:D:eek: Peace, John
