Very nice adam...

Here is our 2013 tree, It took a while to get in the house, she is a big girl, needed to have a stand fabricated years ago to accommodate such large trees, it had to weigh 250 lbs... this pic was after lights and trimming, but before decorating, its almost done, we put on almost a thousand ornaments, and do it in stages, my wife and I hang the lights, my kids, nephews nieces, friends kids, and grandkids, ect ect get to pick some ornaments to hang when they come over through the holidays {we have a ladder rite in the front closet so they can dlimb all over it}... For contrast the ceilings in that room are well over 20 feet {the highest point I could build in my area {there are codes about having too tall a residential building} plus it is a sunken' living room} and my grandfather clock is pretty large {94"s if I remember correctly}... You can see my 2.2 is hidden behind the tree, I wonder how this effects sound dispersion, lol...

Nice! I see that you all prefer the white lights. I grew up with the multi-colored ones, so that's what Christmas is to me. :)

...we put on almost a thousand ornaments...
 Most impressive! I put on about 60, and I'm wiped out. :D

We switch up the lights, sometimes we do the multi colored on the tree and white on the outside trees, this year we did the whites inside and multi's outside, I like the whites inside, there is enough of them that when the tree is lit with the clock and the jukebox you don't need any other lights on in the front of the house and staircases... Rite now there is only a couple hundred ornaments, but tonight some friends are coming over with their kids and they will probably spend an hour putting ornaments on the tree too..

Before we built this house in my old house the biggest we usually went was 12ft but I used to set up the train set that had a 6ft mountain, it took about 9 hours total, but the kids were younger and they helped and enjoyed it now, their phones are going off, their video games are calling them, and xmass decorating just isn't fun to them anymore, more of a chore now...

Adam, is that a real tree?

Just as real as yours...but it wasn't alive recently. :p

When I was a kid, I was really disappointed the first year that my parents decided to get an artificial tree. That was just because of what I was used to. Well, and back then, they didn't look nearly as realistic. They've come a long way, IMO, especially if you spend any time shaping the limbs as you put them on. It is a heck of a lot easier than going out, getting a tree, dealing with the needles, and then disposing of it. From your stories, you go all out on things. I'm a bit lazier. :D

I'm lazy too, but if my wife see's me putting in a ton of effort on stuff like parties, xmass decorations, fund raisers, our kids events, ect then she won't bother me when I spend 4 hours at the firing range or hanging out playing cards at the barber shop.... Because if she says "it doesn't take 4 hours to get a hair cut" I say, "I'm sorry was that cutting into some time I could have been doing something for you, like moving your sisters furniture or helping your friends with their heating system?" luckily she is a good wife and doesn't bother me much..

No tree here anymore, we don't do the present thing as it's all grown ups now.
Back when I did a tree it was more of a "deployment" as I stored it fully decorated, just brought it out and dropped it in place ... that saved lots of time. :)

Seriously, I have no life.
This is our tree.

We have lots of nature's Christmas trees here in the North Woods of Minnesota.

And a very happy Christmas to all.

Oh, and we picked up our tree yesterday. It's still out on the deck and we'll have to bring it in this evening, as we're expecting a mess of snow tonight/tomorrow. We normally go to a tree farm and cut one, but it just didn't fit into our schedule this year.

No tree for us this year. Since we're spending the rest of the year with the grandkids in Texas, we figured the only one who would appreciate it is our cat, and I think she's a devil worshiper.

We actually had snow this year. Well, it was ice but it looks like snow.

My wife put up several smaller trees this year vs the one big tree.

Took the wreath down took some benedryl and the rash is gone... Out "holiday" {can't call it Christmas party Ill get sued, lol} is friday night, I told her that her bonus will reflect her trying to poison me with holiday decorations..
