My Rantz,
Thanks so much for this news, I hadn't heard of this. It's good to read that he's on the mend. I really like Rea's guitar playing and his gritty voice that has that chronic smoker kind of sound to it. I have a fair amount of his cds and enjoy them all. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for his future works as well. BTW, I hope you're feeling better too.

Thanks Hawkeye, I am doing okay though still restricted to light walking, sitting around, and not much else - hopefully another week or two when the bandages come off for good!

It's good to hear Chris Rea doing well after such serious illness. He's an inspiration. Having recently being diagnosed with type two diabetes and requiring medication, special diets and having to give up much of life's good stuff, it is easy to become a little down at times. So for Mr Rea to pull out of his downward spiral really took some grit imho.

"God's Great Banana Skin" had been the last cd I had bought of his with "Road To Hell" being my favourite. I didn't realise he had released so many albums since - the music shops here are fairly useless with the majority of titles being 'the best ofs.' His latest music has that blues/jazz feel that is right up my alley and he does it so well. Wonderful stuff.
