Hi guys,
I want you to help me choose a subwoofer for my HT. My room haves 1950 cubic feets.

I have in mind 3 options:

HSU VTF-1
STF-2
A3S-250

What do you guys think about those ones? And if you have any other idea I´ll be grateful to hear.

Thanks for your help

I used to have a STF2, that was a great sub. From the ones you listed, I would go with a VTF1, and run that sucker in max output mode, I think that thing would have a lot of punch. Emotiva has some nice looking budget subs on sale at the moment, but even between them and the VTF1, I would go with the VTF1, I think that would have a bit more impact.

There is a lot of praise for the BIC Acoustech PL-200, and you can get that for under 300 if you look in the right places.

You can't go wrong with any of those HSU subwoofers.

Beware of Elemental Design build / shipping time. Might be up to 70+ days before it even ships......

By the way, the HSU VTF-2 MK3 is on sale for $509...... the VTF-1 is $449........ tiny price difference for a lot more performance.

Grab it while it's on sale and don't look back.

Thank you very much for your help. I think I will get the VTF-2 MK3. And wich speakers do you think that could work well with it?
I'm between those three options:

1) SVSOUND:
- Front: SCS-02M
- Center: SCS-02
- Surround: SSS-02

2)HSU:
- Front and Rear: HB-1 MK2
- Center: HC-1 MK2

3)Klipsch:
-Front: RB-51
-Center: RC-52
-Surround: RS-42

And of corse, if you have some other idea, on this price range, or shipper (better) I´ll be grateful.

Thank you

Not sure, I have not heard any of those speakers, but you don't have to match the subwoofer with the speakers.

Two of those sets are horn speakers ( HSU and Klipsch, while the SVS are not )

I am not sure what you'll be listening to most of the time, but you will probably get more help posting them in the Speakers section.

Hsu

As you can see from my sig, I went Hsu all the way and I don't regret it. The HB 1 MK 2 fronts have horns but they do NOT sound harsh or overly bright at all to me. And I LOVE my VTF 3 MK 3 sub !

If you live in Southern California you can go to the Hsu office, I believe its in Fullerton or Anaheim, its right off the 91. They have their subwoofers and speakers set up in a mini theater.

I listened to their bookshelfs and they are really really good. If I was after a highly dynamic speaker which could reach relatively high SPL around that budget I would pick them up immediately.

They are a horn speaker but didn't sound overly harsh or forward. They have decent midrange and go deep for their size. Hsu definitely succeeded at bang for buck once again with these.

Buying a speaker for yourself is all about YOU going out and listening and deciding what YOU like.

sound is not a "taste", if a speaker is good, a speaker is good and most everyone with good hearing will agree so. some people may say a bad speaker sounds good only because it does in fact sound better then their previous speakers. most of the hardcore people on here have heard good sound and know what it sounds like so if they recommend something i'm sure it wont be bad. in double blind test nearly all people will agree on the same speaker sounding good.

Both HSU are ported designs, but eD's is sealed.
Ported typically have more punch, but sealed more precise. Choice is your, ether option will work well in your small space, as long as it's not open to other spaces...
The are other eD (ported) subs with lower bass extension (at least on the specs) than HSU within your budget...
