Fans of Tony Ja (Ong Bak, The Protector) and/or your general kick a** fighting movies will definitely want to pick this one up or at the very least rent this one. The fighting is well choreographed and as with the Tony Ja movies, has a very real (painful) feel to it. They use wires, but only on the more difficult moves, so the majority of it is done in real time by the actors themselves. Note that Tony is not the main character, nor is he actually in the film as far as I can tell, but the influence is there as it is the same director and fight choreographer.
The story has to do with a Thai girl who is the daughter of a Thai "gang" leader falls in love with a Yakuza gang member. This obviously presents a problem and the mayhem ensues. I'll let you find out who the main character actually is, as that is part of the fun of this movie, and if I tell you more it will give some of it away.
PQ is solid at times, and a little fuzzy at others, but overall it is good. The DTS-HD MA tracks are very good, both the English dub (surprisingly) and also the Thai one. The subtitles were a bit large and annoying though.
