cheap dvd player with mods

.....well, Bob told me today that I can get a video mod or two along with two audio mods put in the Samsung hd-941....and gave me the website this guy has, which lists three area-code numbers....I'm going to call him Monday and spend a few national minutes....I will report on this situation from this thread, so when you see it pop up, it won't be a joke picture from yahoo....

.....you guys with Denon 3910's....you got any yardwork I could do for cash?.....

.....I just talked to the guy and I am going to try this for sure....he is ultra-nice and is a talker, haha.....

.....tonight I will make an online purchase of a Samsung DVD HD941 and have it mailed to him at his business location....for 580 total, he will go through the player and mod both the audio and video full snuff, re-pack the unit double-packed with bubble-wrap included, and mail it to me Fedex....he told me Samsung had merged with RCA awhile back and the quality of the Samsung's had risen dramatically.....

....if I am wasting my time posting about this, I would like to know this at this time.....I ask for those interested to simply post and say, "I'm interested"....if I get even one, I will follow the course.....

Whether you're on the correct threat or not, why are you modding a player? Are you looking for a DCDI engine for upconversion? You know Panasonic sells a flagship unit for half the price you are paying to mod your unit. I guess I'm a little lost here. Is it audio or video quality that he promises to enhance?

I was thinking after reading your post, and I wondered why you wouldn't put your $580 toward a better player? Heck for that amount you are pretty close to getting a 3910 anyways. Thats my two cents.

....Buck, I'm going to claim RANK AMATEUR right off the bat concerning DVD players, ok?....here's all I know....

.....Bob, a long time friend, the guy who mailed me four speakers I suspect I will never take for granted after buying and building speakers for about 40 years, knows the guy well, and the guy knows Bob well....

.....the guy just finished modding out a screen projector for one of the Smithsonian buildings....he said he was really disappointed in the Denon 3910 as the video can't be modded and needs to be....I saw the Denon 3910 online modded for audio by someone for 3200....the total here is 124 plus 580....Bob told me, to mod the Samsung gives amazing audio and video....I thought it already did....I can't wait....speakers are our music's last chance, but the quality of the signal is the origin....Bob is sending two to the guy....

....I can relate the guy said the whole player would be gone through, and circuits would be replaced....he gave every indication I would be very happy....after this I plead total ignorance.....

Why blow $3200 on a Denon when you could invest a little more and buy a Mcintosh MVP861?

I never heard of any mods that affected video deinterlacing ability or adaptive noise reduction, or improved 2:3 pulldown.

A fool and his money... but if you have the extra cash and you're just looking to play around, then no harm no foul.

Of course, since you didn't view the player first, you'll have no idea if what he did make it better or not - unless you're planning on buying another one as a control. Somehow I don't think comparison is the point though, is it?

.....I don't, Privateer....but Bob said it would, and I'll go with that....I was going to order a Samsung 941 to give my son-in-law anyway....but he'll probably get the 931....I am really excited about this....if it gets much better with the mods, I may pass out....I have a little to spare this paycheck anyway....how much is that McIntosh you listed?.....
