It was hoped that over CEDIA we might see a little more talk from the Blu-Ray camp about release dates and information, but now it sounds like it will definitely be at CES.

Rumors are going about for a June '06 official launch, but Pioneer is claiming they will have a in-PC Blu-Ray player the first quarter of '06.

If you guys are heading over to CES next week, I (and I'm sure others) would love to hear from the Blu-Ray camp about any possible details.

Including:

1. Player Pricing?
2. Actual Availability?
3. Release date for PS3?
4. Cost for PS3 (vs. stand alone players)
5. Will it include HD over component output???? (That's a biggie!)
6. Will recordable capability be on the first players?
7. Disc pricing?
8. Pre-recorded movie pricing?
9. Movie release list?

Likewise, would like to hear what you guys think of the showing that HD-DVD is putting on with its recently found support from Microsoft. Or does HD-DVD arrive DOA?

Thanks!

At CEDIA, manufactures were extremely tight lipped about release dates. Sony even had a guard posted at their player. I'm hoping to learn more at CES.

Strangely enough Tom, I wouldn't mind hearing what you find out either. ;)

Rumor mill is that CES will be when the info is given. If it is 1st quarter '06, then there are no CEDIAs or major shows that I know of between CES and the actual release. Seems like the right time to give (and get) the info.
