I am new to ho,me theater and have been using cerwin vega e310's with matching center and surrounds, i thought they sounded good but after reading on the forums it seems they are not very popular.
What would i gain by going to the polk monitor 50's ?
anyone else use vegas for home theater ?
I owned a pair of E-315's (actually they are still at my house) and boy do they play loud paired with my Peavey amplifier. In my opinion though, that's about the extent of their capabilities. I would recommend them if you are looking to throw a large party or just want to shake your house apart, but not for an home theater system. They just don't have the accurate frequency response that most desire from a good system. I am not familiar with Polk speakers, but I would recommend an upgrade from the CV's if accuracy is what you are looking for.
That said, I was never once dissapointed with my Cerwin's when I used them, they are very loud speakers and I have impressed many people with them. I upgraded not because of any dissapointment I had with the sound, but because I had extra cash and was in awe over the Paradigm 90P tower's.
