Hello. Iam thinking on buying Magnat Monitor Supreme Center 252. It`s only one speaker and it is a center speaker. Could i listen to music or anything else on it without buying other speakers for it? And would it have decend bass on its own because it has 150 watts (75 RMS). Thanks in advance

If you have the ability to play mono (rather than 2.0/stereo) then a single speaker could work. That speaker is designed for being laid on it's side (underneath a tv) so is somewhat a compromised design to accommodate that position but it may not bother you. The wattage ratings, mostly useless information, wouldn't tell you a thing about it's frequency response range, at either end of the spectrum. I see a spec without qualification of 40Hz to 34000Hz which seems to be exaggerated in any case, decent sensitivity, but a 4-8 ohm rating so somewhat depends what amp you're going to use with it. https://magnathifimuseum.wordpress.com/tag/monitor-supreme-center-252/

It does not matter that it is a center speaker, however you can only listen to one channel of sound with only one speaker. Connecting two channels to one speaker will cause issues. Ideally, you want at least 2 speakers at minimum, or you need to listen in Mono if available (as mentioned above).

This speaker is a centered MTM design, so it can be used horizontal or vertical.

Passive speakers do not have a "wattage". You need an amplifier for the speaker to produce sound.

This brings to mind that most soundbars are effectively monoaural speakers, even if technically they are not. How well would stereo panning work with most soundbars? Not well I would wager.

There's an axiom in setting up a home theater with an AR screen that LCR all exist behind the screen (rather than putting L/R beside the screen).

I've seen soundbars as wide as 65" TVs.

So I don't know why they wouldn't be able to offer the same sort of seperation that speakers would.

It will all, of course, be distance dependant. The soundbar I was using on my PC gave excellent stereo; though I was less than 3 feet away from it.

Small soundbars will probably sound more like a single speaker, but the wider ones should give you some separation as long as they are the type that either decode or have inputs for separate channels.
