Center Speaker Mounting

Hello All,
I was curious if anyone had any recommendations on a good way to safely mount a center speaker. I have a projector screen, but I also have a 2 and 4 year old that are... let's say curious! What can centers be mounted over a 100 inch screen? If under, has anyone see a good mount for a center? This is the center that I have. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-6-5-2-Way-Center-Channel-Home-Theater-Speaker-Stereo-Audio-MTX-MUSICA6C/174042272304?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

If under, you could just mount a shelf to the wall and put the speaker on it.

That could well apply to above the screen as well....and would be away from prying fingers. Hard to know what fits without more info, tho....

Not that I've ever noticed either....unless your center is oriented like a normal speaker rather than the compromised horizontal design most centers are....

Just short of drilling into your speaker and installing a VESA mounting plate like you would attach to a TV or monitor... not many options. And many of those get expensive, with visible hardware. Though I'm not a fan of using shelves, that might be safest considering your concern about the children.
Otherwise... Stands.

I was considering DIYing a shelf and then put two small screws up through the bottom of the speaker? Does that in any way compromise the speaker? DISCLAIMER: I don't know if you are supposed to put screws in speakers or not.

More about what you want....some are concerned about resale value. Just don't screw into the crossover as was noted. As long as there's not an air leak the speaker won't care...

It's not recommended to drill through the cabinet walls. Especially without knowing where the XO is.

FYI: You don't need to ask the same question in multiple forums.

I would NOT screw into the speaker. If it must be on the wall, I'd just go with some in-wall speakers or buy ones that already have provision for mounting.

I've installed K&M mounting plates on two pair of speakers. They will never be the same again. ;)
I didn't destroy anything, but for example, the piano finish on one pair will never be mistaken for new. And though I didn't break the seal on those, I did on the first pair I tried.
In both cases I installed threaded inserts into the cabinet, and then attached the mounting bracket to the speaker using those inserts.

You could also just build an enclosed cabinet with a locking drop down door. When using the room you could open it, when done just close it and lock it and it's out of reach of little fingers..

The other option, if your screen is one that passes sound through it is to mount the speaker far enough up the wall behind the screen to be well out of little fingers reach. This is the better mounting location for the speaker anyways as it allows the sound to come from the center of the screen.

Working on that training... But I tend to subscribe Murphy's Law. I think the electric perimeter fence is the way to go. Wait what? Lol Thanks for all the suggestions and advice!
