Wow I am on a roll! Ijust received another red chicklet for my center speaker comment.
LOL I was trying to be helpful and positive; go figure
Given the nature of the system, anyone, for any reason, or for no reason, who is a member in good standing of Audioholics, and who has not recently rated you, can rate you positively or negatively. So it is a kind of popularity contest, and has nothing directly to do with the relative merits of your posts. I am sure some would argue that, generally, bad posts will get bad ratings, and good posts will get good ratings, but there is nothing in the system to require it to work out that way. And, even if it did
generally work that way, that would be no consolation for one who happens to be involved in an exception to the general trend.
I say, don't pay too much attention to such things. You are not the first to be unjustly given a bad rating, and you will not be the last, either. People also are sometimes thanked for saying stupid things, so it isn't only the negative ratings that are not always justified.
However, your post was unclear, and was, I believe, also wrong, as I think most center speakers do not use cone tweeters. Probably, most are two way, and have no midrange speaker either. Such errors, however, in no way justify giving your post a negative rating. Such errors only invite correction, not some anonymous negative rating without a posted explanation. Of course, that is merely my opinion, and has nothing to do with how the rating system works. For that, see my first paragraph in this post.
