Center Channel Woes

Currently I have infinity beta 50's for the fronts and the beta c250 for the center... I have to jack the center channel level up to make it clearly audible and at that point it no longer blends into the L & R speakers... could it just be my antiquated reciever not outputting the same wattage to the center as it is to the mains? is the Center traditionally set at large or small? and lastly would it be worth upgrading to the c360 which has an extra tweeter (only 220$) if anyone has had experience with both centers... (or if not what would be a good clear compatible center channel)

Older ProLogic receivers did have different wattage to the center and surround channels but that would only present a problem if you were playing things so loud that the fronts were using more power than the center/surrounds.

Ideally you want all speakers set to Small if you have a subwoofer.

A center channel with an extra tweeter would help the sound for those seated off center but otherwise won't matter for balancing the center with the mains.
