Center Channel - utilize a soundbar?

So --- I've been thinking of experimenting with a soundbar as the center channel... I have an extra one not being used that happens to require an external amp/receiver.
Which needed to be externally amped for power - I could juice it pretty well... unfortunately, I cannot really fit a tower in as the center channel to match my L/R.....

Has anyone tried this before, at least for fun?

Seriously, I have no life.

That is a really bad idea. The center speaker needs to be the most potent and a really good speaker. What are your tower speakers? Bad centers are worse than no center.

They arent the greatest - just some Klipsch KF28s for LR... the soundbar must weigh about 25lbs, it is super heavy for a soundbar. I've got a lot of random audio equipment, so just playing with it all to see what I want to keep.
