Center channel to pair with Boston Acoustics RS230

Hello,

I am looking for a center channel to go with 4 BostonAcoustics RS230 and Velodyne Impact 12 sub, Denon 3310 AVR.

The constraint I have with center channel is I can place it *only* on the fireplace mantle and the clearance from the top of fireplace slab to the bottom of the TV is 5" as the tv is wall-mounted above the fireplace.

RS244C RS223 center's height is out of bounds. I saw polk RM9, the height would work but dont know if its optimum pairing. Please help with any u could suggest in the dimensions feasible.

I would not use a different brand of center. According to Boston's site the RS223 is 4-13/16 x 22-11/16 x 3-5/16”. I would either shoehorn the RS223 into that 5" space, or move the TV up an inch, or do without a center. There are several people here running a "phantom" (no) center. I like the real thing but if you don't have the space then you don't have the space.

If you decide to go with the Polk center then I would replace the left and right fronts as well. Probably with something a bit larger than the RS230s.

Thanks Sholling, ended up getting RS230 and RS223 to go with Velodyne Impact 12. So moving on to the fun of hooking all up and to find mounts for RS230 to go on wall.

If those are rear ported, and BA products usually are, then you'll need mounts that will hold them 3-4" from the wall.

Yeah need the mount and brakcets.

Any one know where to find cheap omnimount 20 WALL or comparable mounts ?
