I need help choosing a center channel speaker to match an existing Sherwood system.

My boss bought a used house with a home theater system pre installed.
The center channel speaker is missing probably due to the tv filling up the tv cabinet leaving no room for the speaker. The center speaker is on the original invoice as a CSi30, but it is nowhere to be found

The Rx is a Sherwood R963
Front speakers are RTi38

Space is no longer an issue with the new lcd tv, he has about 10"x32" of room for the center speaker now.

What are your suggestions for an inexpensive off the shelf speaker that will match up decent? Hes not picky at all.

This guy is tight or I would just try to find a CSi30.
The original invoice from 2002 listed this speaker at 199.95

Thanks,

BP

well, if he wants to match the existing speakers, he needs to search the used market, ie. ebay, audiogon, graiglist. A friend of mine, just pick up a pair of Polk di/bipole to match the pair he alreay had.

WELL I WOULD UP GRADE THE WHOLE SYSTEM. BUT I UNDERSTAND THE PRICE CONSTRAINTS. YOU CAN REALLY UP-GRADE HIS WHOLE SYSTEM BY HAVING HIM SPEND A LITTLE MORE $ ON THE CENTER. 60 TO 65% OF ALL SOUND COMES FROM THE CENTER CHANNEL. SO IF HE IS TIGHT TELL HIM BY BUYING A NICE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CENTER FOR LIKE $300-$500 HE WILL REALLY BE SAVING MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL UP-GRADE THE ENTIRE SOUND SYSTEM.

Please don't type in caps. It comes across as shouting, sarcastic, or angry which I know you didn't mean. ;)

Not withstanding the stuck caps lock button, I agree with the principle of upgrading the entire system. If money is the issue, a HTiB would be an upgrade.
