Hi All, I would appreciate very much if some could help me out with an issue i have been dealing with for some time, here it is.
I own a Teac AG-H550 Reference Series A/V Receiver that when i bought it had a blown center channel, i took it in to be repaired and they replaced a part as big as my finger nail (i think it was a capacitor) which brought the channel back to life.
However regardless of what speaker i use for the center channel i get a random popping sound on certain frequencies, i would estimate below 80hz, although it is hard to tell exactly. It sounds similar to what a very small small speaker would sound like if the cone was ripped and being fed to much power, or if you accidently knock the arm of a record player, kind of a scratchy pop).
It is apparent mostly when playing music in Pro-Logic and Dolby Digital 3 channel stereo modes, regardless of settings such as Sub on/off, Speakers small/large, Delay, Impedance selector setting 4/8 ohms.
Just for your information here's the rest of the specs on the system.
Cable: 12G Monster Cable
Front: Epos Els3's
Center: Energy Connoisseur CC-1
Rear: Mirage AVS-200
Thanks
