Center Channel Match for Bose 301 Fronts

I need to replace a damaged center channel speaker & would appreciate your suggestions. My current 5.1 setup (including the center channel) is based on a Harmon Kardon HKTS-12 speaker package, except that I've replaced the original front right/left speakers with Bose 301's. I've heard good things about the Aperion Intimus 533-vac speaker, but I'm concerned about matching with the Bose 301's. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Technically there is no match. If you get a nice center, I have a feeling you might end up disappointed with the 301s and then you'd need to get matching Aperions for the mains too... My recommendation would be to sell the 301s and pick up a matching set of 3 for the front, of whatever fits your budget.

Thanks for the tip. While the 301's have been OK, I'm not sure I would buy them again today given the opportunity. Do you have any recommendations for a good 3 speaker package that I could look for used? Perhaps something that I might find on Ebay in the range of about $300 total for all 3 used speakers? Thanks- (I'm on a budget here!)

That set went for 623.00USD, way over your budget. I was watching the bidding out of curiosity for what they would go for, and these people were battling and battling and then at the very last minute some guy bidded 10 bucks over and took it. eBay amazes me.

M&K S-125's

Thanks again for the tip. I was actually watching the e-bay auction too, and was planning on bidding if the price stayed around $400-450. Oh well- back to the drawing board. Since the M&K S-125's are tough to find, are there any other models that you would recommend? (keeping in mind my budget of around $400 or less for 3 speakers)

Thanks!
