Dude, she's only being dinged for it because she's a celebrity. I'm sure that many, many more people have committed such an unwitting faux pas. I sure didn't know that particular historical aspect of Peru, nor do a read Chinese, so I never would have noticed it. Noticed her, yes...the bag, no.

Pro-communist attire and accessories are extremely popular among liberal elites, and she knew exactly the meaning of that bag. The hammer and sickle have become trendy, and communist attire is seen everywhere these days.

The way some people jump to the worst conclusions about someone whose politics differ from them cracks me up. Most liberals aren't communists, just like most conservatives aren't nazis.

Everytime I read this thread title I can't help but chuckle a little but thats besides the point. Diaz isn't entirely to blame its the insanely retarted fashion industry I mean check the condom dress out:

http://www.funnyhub.com/pictures/pages/condom-dress.html

If someone who was "important" in the industry made that it would be all over the place and celebs would be offending everyone.

I'm sure she had no clue as to what her hand bag styling meant.

Though, ignorance is not an excuse when you screw up.

Cameron Diaz is one of, if not THE stupidest celebrity out there...at least the dozens of other stupid celebs out there don't try to sound/act intelligent. I have heard a few interviews of hers now and I am embarassed for her and the ignorance that flows from her pie hole. She tries to own the words, but she can only recite what she hears, she can't further explain or describe her "opinions" on most of what she claims to believe in strongly.

As expected, some of you have totally hijacked this thread and are trying to change the topic from the original point made:p The point being..... how stupid must Diaz be....... to 'knowingly' make such a fashion statement in Peru considering the recent communist bloodshed in that country? To her credit.... if anything, she probably wasn't aware of the recent communist coup attempt.

About her fashion statement?? It was no accident...... Communist fashion statements can be seen everywhere in liberal elite circles and they have become very popular. (hats, handbags, clothing) All you have to do is look, and yes... they understand the symbolism.... that's the whole point!! Do you guys know what I'm talking about when I say "lib elites"?? I'm not talking about your garden variety democrats.

I recently watched this TV special on Discovery-HD
http://dhd.discovery.com/fansites/piven/piven.html
Throughout much of this special, Piven is seen wearing various forms of a communist cap with a pretty star on the front:eek:

Sightings are everywhere.... whether it be Diaz's Peruvian fashion blunder, or this dork entertainment correspondent seen on Access Hollywood.

Since 1917, communist regimes have sent more than 100 million victims to their graves, so whats so "chic" about making communist fashion statements? This is a popular trend,...... not an accidental oversight!! The glamorization of communism is quite widespread, and the signs are EVERYWHERE.....examples are endless. If some are in denial and think she had no idea about the symbolic nature of her bag..... then so be it. Yea... maybe you're right......I'm sure she had no idea she was carrying a Maoist communist handbag:rolleyes:

The real question is......... Where is the outrage?

Again, you say "knowingly", again I ask you, when did Cameron tell you about her cool, new Pro-Communist handbag?

The real question is not, "Where is the outrage?" The real question is why are you so upset at something so stupid and trivial? The phrase, "Get a life", comes to mind.

Completely agreed. There is no need to always be pissed off about something stupid someone chooses to do. Just live and let live its just like when the a whole country was pissed off at another because of a cartoon.
