Hello Audioholics,
I'm looking for some advice on laying out in-ceiling speakers for a renovation project. In the attached image you can see the placement of all the furniture, cabinets and kitchen island. We would like to replace two bookshelf Sonos One speakers with in ceiling speakers. In the kitchen, the island and dinning table we'd like ambient music, so I'm not sure if I should be bothering with right/left mono pairs, but rather just place a bunch of stereo speakers instead. In the diagram I propose a layout with two stereo speakers and a pair of right/left speakers. In the lounge/office, I thought it might be okay to have a stereo pair since people sit at the couch or the desk. Will that work, to have a stereo pair (R/L) in that room and individual stereo speakers elsewhere? If I don't go with stereo speakers I fear that in the kitchen and the dinning area that the sound may not be balanced as it will not be possible to ensure that you are in a position to hear both right/left speakers equally. The ceiling height is 8'. I do have a budget, preferably I'd like to keep it under 1,500 USD.
Thanks for any advice.
