Ceiling set up one more time

I have two weeks before my contactor finishes all my sheetrock.

If I but some of these low-prices speaker pairs referenced in other postings, how do I use them as individual speakers that output both channels?

What is the exact unit to buy to set up a few zones and take advanage of the above just to get some background sound in each room?

Do I still use my main Onkyo system or should I get a specific receiver to send sound to zones?

Thanks

BTW - why not just but some 6 x 9 car speakers with nice grills for the ceiling? They sound great in a car.

If you want one single speaker to play both the left and right channel you would need to buy speakers labeled 'dual input' or 'stereo input'. They typically have two tweeters and one woofer.

If your receiver has a zone 2 capability that is all you need but if you will have more than two speakers to be driven by the one receiver then you will need a speaker selector or impedance matching volume controls for each set of speakers. With that setup zone 2 will play the same source so if you have speakers in every bedroom for example they would all play the same source (but can be turned on and off by the volume control).

If you want each set of speakers to be able to play different sources at the same time then you need a lot more equipment at a much higher cost.

Thanks for the help, I am ordering couple of pairs of Niles. To acheive stereo to one speaker, I presume I need both left and right wiring to each speaker, correct? I would like to do the wiring while I wait for the speakers to ship.

Thanks again

Yes. The speaker has two sets of input terminals, one for the left channel and one for the right.

Thanks for all the help. One last question : Do I need the mounting brackets? They seem optional and from the photo, I can not see how they work.

Much thanks.
