Ceiling or Wall speakers

I have a DENON 1905 and I am upgrading my speakers. The room is odd shaped with room to mount speakers only. The wife likes the cosmetic look of wall or ceiling speakers.

Will I be losing a lot from the surround sound by using wall or ceiling? I am looking at the 8 inch NXG ceiling speakers right now.

Any opinions, suggestions or comments are all welcome.
