<font color='#000000'>Here is a fine example of how a companys marketing and money can corrupt publications
An Award for Product of the Year from Electronic House Magazine is to be presented to Optoma for there H-76
Home Theater projector at CEDIA (NOTE IT SAYS PRODUCT OF THE YEAR!) Cindy Davis Editor of Electronic House stated that the reasons behind the award were clear Based on Reviews,
Installers,Users and its "Tried and True performance"
Hmmm Just one problem The H-76 was to start shipping in
March then Optoma said end of July then end of August
then said it will annouce at CEDIA when the shipping date will be Not one review has been done and not one H-76 has ever been shipped as of this post Also people have said that the reason for the delays were for "QC" issues so Electronic House will be presenting an award for Product of the year for a projector that does not exist in the market I e-mailed
Cindy Davis and her responce was basicly we in the press give out Awards like this all the time
we have seen this projector in a preview and feel it was worth the award When I asked how a product can be eligible for Product of the year that no one has used or reviewed she said that it only needed to be available from Sept 2002-2003
Well I guess she must be confused on what year it is because Sept 2003 is here and there is no firm shipping date for this
product and not one review
Talk about lack of credibility Note how she said
"based on reviews,installers and users"
If this chaps your A** like mine. let her know how you feel about there award at
