A while back I posted a question as to whether or not a CD-R could possibly sound better than the original. I also have wondered if there's any truth to the longstanding belief that certain colors of CD-R sound better than other (black is usually held by the "gurus" to sound better than silver).

I would love to see the Audioholics Staff tackle this topic with a controlled test. It should be a snap, given your expertise & equipment. Particulary, I'd like to see an analysis of the signal and a listening test. The listening tests could answer two questions: is there any sonic difference between a CD and the copy, and if so, does one sound better?

To date the thread has been viewed 2,767 times, so I'd surmise that there's a lot of curiosity on the subject.

Thanks for considering it.
