I have MBs 4 nakamichi Cd player and I am wondering if I need to up grade to newer or better.
My music bank 4 is getting kinda old and I would like to hear pro and con on subject. Is the technology still good or do I need to replace. Or can I up grade unit internally with new parts?

Leave the player alone. That is a fine old player, from NAK before it was sold, bought and turned into a junk brand. The technology has not changed.

The better approach is to rip those CD's to a hard drive and set up some method of streaming the music files to the audio system. Or, of course, your Oppo plays CD's just fine if you don't like the Nakamichi.

Like TLS said, keep it! Actually I’m surprised it’s still working. Most of those get put out to pasture when the CD changing mechanism jams up and quits working. I’ve had two of them and they both died the same way. You’re very fortunate, so just use it until it quits. When it does dies, it’s hard to find a new CD player these days. Most people just play them in their DVD or blu-ray players.
