Do most people use a combo CD/DVD player in their systems? I currently have an inexpensive one for now but plan on upgrading to an OPPO quality player in a few months. In the meantime, I want to get the most sound quality out of the one I have. It has the usual R/W RCA outs, along with a Digital Out and Coaxial Out.
What should I hook up to the Pre/Pro for the best sound when playing CD's and DVD's?

You should use the optical or coax connection to your receiver. You cannot get the multichannel audio with just the red/white right/left connections.

Thanks for the input Duff. Should I connect the R/W as well?

You don't need to unless you are using the second zone function. Your receiver won't pass the digital input to a different zone but you can get around that by using the L/R analog connections into the same input.

Thanks again for clearing that up.
