Greetings All,
I'm new to this, so kid gloves please.

I have a 16 camera video system on my property, computer based, and want to pipe it into my whole house video system. The computer has a s-video out, and it works fine, so... my question is; what device do I need to convert the s-video signal from my video card in the computer to be able to send it to my control panel (in a closet) for distribution through out the house? (The house is wired via rg6, using Direct TV. No cable TV out here where I live.

I would recommend talking to the company that installed the control/distribution system.

If you were running a normal cable tv setup in the house you could use something like this.
Open House H511BID Bi-Directional Channel Injector
It would remove one of your cable tv channels (like 2 or 5 or whatever) and put your security system on that channel.

A direct tv setup make it a lot harder to do that. I'm going to guess that your dish feeds into some sort of splitter/switcher thing that has feeds running out to each room. Each room then would have its own set top box. I doubt an injector like the one I linked above would work for that kind of system.

If you don't have a box on each tv than you might have some sort of crazy crestron style control system. If thats the case then you would almost have to contact the company that installed it all in the first place.

Good luck, let us know what you come up with. Sounds like you have a neat setup.
