Hi,

I had a 55 inch D8000 LED samsung for 53 weeks before it developed a screen fault. In this case a permanent vertical blue line approx 2 inches in from the right hand side as viewed. This set was replaced without quibble, care of John Lewis with the new E8000, however after just 3 weeks this set has also developed the same fault and is due to be replaced next week. The Samsung Engineer who visited to confirm the panel was at fault, could not give any explanation on possible causes ...
My question is, as I use my Onkyo TX-NR 807 to handle the HDMI feeds from my PS3 and Sky Hd box, could by chance this be the route cause of the screen fault in both cases ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas....

My guess (and it is a guess) would be the possibility of "dirty power". Is the TV plugged directly into the outlet, or do you have a power conditioner?

From a lot of reading I've done, it seems that TVs are some of the most sensitive electronics to voltage spikes or sags.

My 55" Toshiba LCD (~ 5 years old) has developed the same problem. Most of the time the line is red but sometimes it's yellow or blue. It's just a bunch of stuck pixels and is bound to happen sooner or later on LCD/LED TVs.
