Caught up to the 21st century!!

Finally got internet at the "new" house after a year or waiting!! Living out in rural Arizona we didn't have any broadband internet options, not even DSL.

So after much calling and waiting we finally found a company that just put up a new wireless tower about 2 country blocks away. Fast!!

Now I can enjoy Audioholics at home.

Awesome. You know, MacManNM still has dial up in New Mexico. He's in the mountains, and high speed internet is not available. All that knowledge, and slow speed internet. Arrrgh.

Here are my results using my laptop on a Wireless-G card.

714.5 kilobits per second

I'll do my desktop here shortly.

That's alot faster than dialup but pretty slow by DSL and Cable standards. Time Warner keeps increasing our bandwidth at no cost. I now consistently get 5 mbps.

You may wanna be careful about "borrowing" your neighbor's internet. I've heard of neighbors getting vindictive and filling your computer with beastiality porn. So just watch out...

7.25 Mbps SMOKING I dont think that I could ever go back to dial up. I would rather watch snails race.
